“Suspended,” an 11”x14” Vertical Mixed Media Painting

I grew up in the foothills of the North Carolina Blue Ridge, nestled among waving grasses, dark green woods, and icy mountain streams. My time was mostly my own, and I spent it wandering the woods and fields around my home, cultivating a loving obsession with the environment that nurtured me.

As an impressionist, I don’t aim to document the way something looks. My goal is to capture the heart of a place, moment, or memory.

This collection manifests the lightness and freedom of my upbringing among the foothills of the Carolina Blue Ridge. Fluffy clouds, rolling hills, and deep shadowed forests grace each piece, dotted throughout with wildflowers.
