Blooming, Becoming came to me in a season of innocent joy, awaiting the birth of my second child. I have grown life within me before, but after seven years of secondary infertility, I had come to believe that my precious daughter would be my only.

But God’s timing is perfect, and this summer my family will welcome a new member.

This spring has been a time of happy anticipation, and I found myself inspired to create something that would capture the beautiful, joyful messiness of motherhood and childhood. Using soft acrylic washes and expressive oil pastel mark-making, each painting in this collection is a celebration of new life and good news when hope was believed to be lost.

The Beautiful Tumble is a vibrant, cheerful painting of pink tulip flowers in painterly acrylics and expressive oil pastel marks, ready to hang in a 12”x18” frame.
